
TFC's Funding
The Free Clinics has a diversified funding base that includes donations, special events, state and local government support, foundation and corporate grants, United Way funding, service and/or rental contracts, limited fee-for-service, and interest income. For the July 2010 – June 2011 fiscal year, TFC’s funding sources were divided as follows:
- Donations—18%
- Special Events—6%
- United Way Funding—4%
- Foundation and Corporate Grants—28%
- Government Support (state and local)—36%
- Service and/or Rental Contracts—2%
- Fee-for-Service—5%
- Interest and Other Income—1%.
All clinics and programs are provided to patients free of charge, with the exception of a modest $3 filling fee for the Community Pharmacy. Patients are offered the opportunity to make a donation in return for services.
