Appointments

Appointments and accessing TFC services

The Free Clinics has some walk-in services and some appointment-based services.  Appointments are for specialty clinics which require referral from a primary care physician.

Eligibility is required for all TFC services.

With regard to specialty care, once TFC receives a referral for specialty services from a patient’s primary physician, the first step will be to conduct a new patient eligibility intake interview, in order to ensure that patients are screened and approved for TFC services. .

Patients can come for eligibility screening during times indicated.  Or they can call 697-8422 to make an eligibility appointment.  Please see TFC patient eligibility guidelines.

Once the patient has completed their eligibility screening and been approved, TFC clinical staff will schedule appointments for specialty clinics and/or outside referrals as appropriate.

TFC Patient “No Show” Policy

Patient appointments are offered thanks to the generosity of our volunteers.

Patients of The Free Clinics are counseled to contact TFC should the need arise to cancel or reschedule their appointment.  They are strongly discouraged from “no showing” for their appointment.

Patients will be allowed one “no show” without penalty.  Upon the 2nd “no show” in a 90 day period, the patient will be suspended from all TFC services for a period of 90 days.  Upon reinstatement following the suspension, should the patient “no show” again, she or he will be discharged from TFC and terminated from all TFC services.

Patients will be permitted to appeal to the Executive Director should their “no shows” result in termination of services.

Patients will be notified of this policy upon initial enrollment into TFC services as part of the eligibility process.
